Preliminary Assessment and Exact Investment Calculation
At this stage, our specialist will consult you on all matters related to the application, calculate the exact investment amount based on your family composition, and provide a full list of necessary documents and requirements for all applicants.
To participate in the Vanuatu investment citizenship program, the primary applicant must:
- Be between 18 and 65 years old.
- Demonstrate financial solvency.
- Have an impeccable reputation: The applicant must provide a certificate of no criminal record.
- Not have any serious health conditions.
Payment: No payment is required at this stage.
Due Diligence Check
This stage is conducted by the Financial Control Division of the Republic of Vanuatu, the Immigration Department, and Interpol. As a result, three approval letters for citizenship are issued, contingent on the submission of remaining documents and completion of procedural formalities. To proceed with this stage, the following documents must be provided: a copy of the passport, a certificate of no criminal record, a brief resume, and asset information.
Duration: The initial verification of personal data takes between 7 to 10 days, depending on the complexity of the data verification process for each individual application.
Payment: At this stage, a payment of $8,000 is required (including all administrative fees). This amount is non-refundable, regardless of the outcome of the due diligence check.
Submission of Full Document Package
After successfully passing the due diligence stage, each applicant submits the completed application form along with all necessary documents.
Duration: The government of Vanuatu processes the full document package within 1-2 months (depending on the main applicant's portfolio and the composition of the family).
Payment: At this stage, the full investment amount of $157,000 is paid (this includes $50,000 worth of Coconut Oil Fund shares, which can be bought back by the government from the new citizen 5 years after citizenship is granted, if desired).
Notes:
- Citizenship fees and the minimum investment amount are set by the government and are paid through the designated government agent. Since VIMB is the official government agent, no additional intermediaries are involved.
- The paid investment amount and registration fees are fully refundable if, for any reason, the citizenship process is not completed, provided that 100% of the amount was paid without delays during the submission of documents to the Citizenship Commission.
- The Citizenship Commission's Committee meetings are held twice a month.
Citizenship Ceremony
After receiving written confirmation of the granting of Vanuatu citizenship, the final step is the swearing-in ceremony. The oath is now taken online, meaning there is no need to travel to the island.
Receiving the Passport, Citizenship Certificate, and Coconut Oil Fund Shares
After taking the oath, the Vanuatu Citizenship Certificate and Passport are delivered to the new citizen and their family members included in the application by a Vanuatu passport officer.
Immediately after citizenship confirmation, an international company is registered in Vanuatu in the applicant's name, and redeemable preferred shares of the Coconut Oil Fund are issued in the name of this company. These shares are delivered along with the Citizenship Certificate and Passport.
